What to Expect
A typical first visit will start with a health history interview so that I can learn more about your main complaint(s) and your overall health goals as well as gain an understanding of how your body is functioning as a whole. We then will move on to the treatment process.

Many acupuncture patients say they barely feel anything during treatment. Occasionally patients may experience a slight tingling, dull or aching sensation at the site of the needle, all of which is perfectly normal and not uncomfortable. The needles are usually left in place anywhere between 20 and 45 minutes depending on the condition being treated. Due the harmonizing effects of acupuncture, many patients fall in to a deep relaxed state and often fall asleep. If appropriate, other modalities may also be used during treatment such as cupping, gua sha, and/or tuina massage.

At the end of the treatment we will discuss your treatment plan and go over a basic report of my initial findings. If at any time you have questions regarding treatment or anything related to your health, please don’t hesitate to ask.

  • "I came to see Rebecca for chronic indigestion which I had been suffering with for 9 months. I was taking increasing doses of Zantac but was still feeling badly on a daily basis. I had cut all animal fat, processed sugars and dairy from my diet but nothing seemed to help. Within 6 weeks of herbal therapy with Rebecca I was relieved of all of my symptoms and was able to stop taking Zantac while resuming a normal diet. She has proven to be a thoughtful and caring practitioner, always taking a conservative approach with my treatment. I am deeply grateful for her help and thrilled to have my life back." - L.J., Lexington
  • "I had been suffering from a rare stomach disorder for the last 10 years. I had been to 3 different hospitals in MA, 1 in California, taken a slew of tests, and had been in and out of the emergency room so many times I felt like it was my second home. I would get these attacks of very bad pain in my stomach and non-stop vomiting episodes. I also was suffering from anxiety, stress and insomnia. After losing the battle with traditional western medicines and doctors only giving me quick fixes I decided to try acupuncture. I knew Rebecca was really good from the initial consultation; which was very thorough. I started noticing results around the second week of treatments! And now, I haven’t had any symptoms of my sickness since the treatments which has been going almost a year! Point blank acupuncture works! Not only do I not have any issues with my stomach but I was able to get my life back again! Thanks for giving me my life back Rebecca!" - L.L., Waltham

  • "I used Rebecca’s acupuncture services for a medical complaint, and found it extremely helpful. I was an acupuncture first-timer and very nervous, mostly fearful about the pain of the needles. Rebecca made me feel comfortable by explaining the whole process to me. She was knowledgeable, honest and down to earth, and her confidence and calmness helped me trust her. As a first timer, I asked Rebecca how it worked, and she gave me an explanation from both a western and eastern perspective, which I really appreciated. Her thoughtful demeanor, her listening skills, her willingness to adjust her treatment based on the nuances that I presented all made me feel that I was in skillful and sensitive hands. The results were great. The needles didn’t hurt and I was most pleased that I was able to avoid using drugs to successfully treat my condition." - S.M., Cambridge
