Rebecca Ong-Sutherland received
her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture
and is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine.
Rebecca studied Chinese and Japanese-style acupuncture as well as Chinese Herbal
Medicine, a combination that few practitioners in the country possess. She continually
strives to expand her knowledge of Eastern Medicine by attending advanced training
seminars all over the country. She has extensive post-graduate training with world-renown
acupuncturist Dr. Richard Te-Fu Tan whose Balance Method style of acupuncture creates
an effective treatment with quick results. She has worked closely with sports-related
injuries and post-operative patients. She also has many clinical hours of experience
treating Women’s Health issues, allergies, digestive disorders and stress. Currently,
Rebecca is affiliated with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Massachusetts General
Hospital and is the acupuncturist for a research study on the effects of acupuncture
on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Rebecca has always had a passion for helping and healing others. Prior to acupuncture,
Rebecca has held positions as an Exercise Physiologist, Nursing Assistant, and Personal
Trainer.
Aside from healing, Rebecca also has a passion in sports and athletics. She was
a competitive gymnast for 11 years and is currently an avid snowboarder, golfer,
and wanna-be surfer (still working on it!). She has also successfully completed
the Boston Marathon. Her fascination with the movement and function of the human
body has been the spark that has led her on the path to a career in health and healing.
